Whether moving just a few boxes & bags or high value ornaments & art, everything gets treated and handled with respect, care and works to provide excellent service in all circumstances. Since operating as individual and not a large company with multiple departments and major business overheads, competitive rates are offered and clear direct communication is provided throughout.

Areas Covered

Being based in North London, the majority of work undertaken is within London and its surrounding areas, however services are provided throughout the whole of the UK. Moves into France, Belgium & further into Europe can also be arranged.

Vehicle Used

The primary vehicle used is a 2021 Ford Transit L3 H3, it has a customer usable payload of 1.2 tonnes, which exceeds many vans in its class, and a loading volume of 12 cubic meters/ 420 cubic feet.

The loading area's dimensions are approximately, a maximum height of 2 meters, a width of 1.7 meters and a length of 3.3 meters. This is usually enough for 2 – 3 medium bedrooms’ worth of furniture, bags & boxes or a living room with multiple sofas and large pieces of furniture. It is equipped with blankets, straps and anchor points to keep your goods safe and secure during transport.

If an item is too heavy to be lifted onto the van, a ramp with a 400kg weight capacity and 750mm width is available for use, as well as a heavy duty trolley to assist loading.

Lifting & Shifting

Lifting boxes, bags, furniture and any other items from the pick up address to the room of your choice at the destination address is part of the service provided and there are no additional charges for stairs. Having multiple years experience moving and transporting a wide variety of items you can be sure your belongings will be treated with the upmost care. With larger items, very high volumes or when there is awkward access, 2 or more people will likely be required to move goods. Additional movers and customer helping options are available.

What Fits

If you are able to provide a list or a close approximation of the items that need moving and their specifics, in the majority of moves it is possible to confirm if your items will fit in 1 trip or if an additional journey will be needed. On long distance moves if more than 1 trip is needed competitive return trip rates are offered. Alternatively additional vans can be quoted.

Time Frame

Every moves circumstances are different, but the majority of flat or house moves can be completed in a day or less. However if a high volume of customer goods are being moved a far distance or multiple items need dismantling and reassembling, 2 or more days may be required.

Flights of stairs, parking proximity, the number of people loading/ unloading and how well packed items are, all are factors to be considered.

Packing Items

Smaller household items should be packaged into taped boxes, suitcases or strong bags for ease of transportation.

Fragile and delicate items such Chinaware, Glass's and Ornaments should be suitably packaged into boxes with bubble wrap or packing paper, so that no 2 delicate items come into contact with eachother without being protected.

TV's, Monitor's, Pictures & Paintings should also have a suitable box or be well wrapped in a protective material.

If uncertain about any packing and it's highlighted before the move commences appropriate packaging can be suggested or arranged.

Traveling with your items

Traveling with your goods is perfectly fine. There is space for 2 passengers in the front of the van. There are no extra costs to travel with your goods.

Dismantling & Reassembling Furniture

As long as joints aren’t fixed, by methods such as being glued on wooden furniture or welded on metal furniture, most items can be dismantled and reassembled if they can’t be transported or carried out as a whole unit.

For Home & Office Moves (Removals) -

Often working as a single Man & Van service and when required to with an extra person or small crew, Antony's Handyvan Removal services are generally aimed towards properties up to the size of a 3/4 bedroom house or the office equivalent. Larger properties, 4+ Bedroom houses can also be accomodated for with additional vehicles & movers.

For General Moving (Man & Van) -

Virtually anything that requires items to be moved, as long as they fit in the cargo area, are within the vans payload & are non hazardous. Antony's Handyvan is interested to hear about the job you may have.
